Health law expert Christiane Köber joins DANCKELMANN UND KERST Rechtsanwälte

After more than thirty years working for the Bad Homburg Wettbewerbszentrale, the expert in competition law and in particular in the field of health law, lawyer Christiane Köber, is moving to the law firm DANCKELMANN UND KERST Rechtsanwälte in Frankfurt am Main in October 2024. There she joins the IP team of several partners working nationwide in competition law, consisting of the lawyers Nikolaus Konstantin Rehart, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Ruhl and Dr. Jan-Felix Isele, all of whom have been working together in competition law for over 25 years and, in addition to their nationwide consulting and litigation practice, are also co-authors of the commentary on Section 5 UWG (misleading advertising) in Beck's online commentary (BeckOK), which is particularly important in everyday advertising.

Ms. Köber built up the health sector (doctors, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacies, health insurance companies and health insurance) at the Wettbewerbszentrale and managed it for decades. She has contributed her expert knowledge to numerous lectures and seminars as well as publications, such as the commentary in the Munich Commentary on Fair Trade Law, the Unfair Competition Act, on pharmaceutical and drug advertising law and - most recently - in the commentary in the Heidelberg Commentary “Arztrecht Krankenhausrecht Medizinrecht”, on the keyword “Competition Law”. She is also the author of the specialist book “Wettbewerbsrecht in der Apotheke” and numerous scientific articles.

“We are pleased to be able to strengthen the existing “Health Law” department in the IP division with Ms. Köber, a nationally recognized expert in health law,” says Dr. Hans-Jürgen Ruhl, head of this department, in which DANCKELMANN UND KERST advises and represents market participants in the health market nationwide in addition to chambers and associations. In recent years, DANCKELMANN UND KERST has won a number of landmark decisions in this segment and conducted proceedings with a nationwide echo. “Ms. Köber perfectly complements and strengthens the “Health Law” department,” says Dr. Hans-Jürgen Ruhl.
